TWO DECADES IN THE TECH SECTOR

Following the military, Chris has spent 20yrs in the digital and media sectors launching commercially successful digital products and teams for NewsCorp, Telstra, Clemenger BBDO plus three start-ups.

GLOBAL AWARD-WINNING ENTREPRENEUR

To whom it may concern,

To date, I have formally studied innovation, have led innovation projects within NewsCorp and Clemenger, have received two global innovation awards for my recent tech start-up, I have my own part-time innovation agency, and I’m undertaking a PhD part time to research and develop a start-up accelerator program specifically tailored to military veterans (www.russel.app).

As part of my recent start-up, and in various corporate innovation roles, I have significant experience utilising design thinking, lean start-up processes and principles, as well as leading client / customer / market focused ideation and validation sessions, MVP and prototype development, and market validation research to deliver commercially viable outcomes.

The career successes I’ve had whilst working for both enterprise and start-ups have all been the result of my focus on building and leading highly talented cross-functional teams, forging close relationships with stakeholders and working hard to build long term, mutually beneficial partnerships. I must also admit that whilst I take great joy in leading and challenging business strategy, I really love being in the middle of the action to be part of doing amazing work with great people to move the needle.

Having worked at both the enterprise end of town and in the start-up sector, I’m very comfortable juggling multiple projects and stakeholders, building rapid engagement and moving from ideation to implementation rapidly. And as a military veteran, I derive great pleasure succeeding under tight deadlines and delivering results that have measurable ROI.

Yours sincerely,

Chris Rhyss
